In its latest forecast, the authority said daytime temperatures will edge up slightly over the coming days, with conditions ranging from mild to relatively warm. Very cold weather is expected to linger before sunrise and after sunset, a pattern typical of the seasonal shift from winter to spring.
Meteorologists note that such swings are common in early March, when warmer afternoons contrast sharply with lingering winter chill overnight and at dawn.
The EMA warned of morning mist between 4am and 9am on several roads in northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, the Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. Reduced visibility could affect early commuters.
Winds are also expected to pick up at times along the northern coasts and in South Sinai through to Sunday, which may make conditions feel cooler despite the slight rise in temperatures.
On Wednesday, highs are forecast to reach 21°C in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta, 19°C along the northern coasts, 22°C in northern Upper Egypt, and 26°C in the south. Overnight lows could fall to between 9°C and 12 °C in several areas.
By Thursday, temperatures are expected to climb marginally to 22°C in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta, 20°C along the northern coasts, 22°C in northern Upper Egypt, and 26°C in southern Upper Egypt.
Despite the modest warming trend, the authority advised people to take care during the early morning because of fog and to dress for sharp drops in temperature after dark.
