Abdelatty held talks with Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani to discuss the rapidly evolving regional situation and the implications of the dangerous military escalation currently affecting several countries.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the call addressed the repercussions of recent attacks targeting Bahrain as well as some Gulf and Arab states.
During the conversation, Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Bahrain and its Gulf partners in confronting the consequences of the attacks, stressing that Gulf and Arab national security is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.
The Egyptian foreign minister reiterated Cairo’s condemnation of the attacks and its categorical rejection of any justifications for violating the sovereignty of sisterly states or undermining their security and the well-being of their peoples.
Abdelatty also warned of the serious consequences of the ongoing military escalation, stressing the importance of the immediate cessation of all military operations to prevent the security situation from spiralling out of control and to spare the region repercussions that could be difficult to contain.
