The milestone underscores Diab’s enduring dominance of the Arab music scene and highlights his remarkable ability to remain relevant more than four decades after launching his career.

The Billboard Arabia Artist 100 chart measures artist popularity across the region based on a combination of digital streaming data, video views, and audience engagement across online platforms and social media.

Often referred to as El-Hadaba (The Plateau)—a nickname suggesting longevity and stability—Diab has long been regarded as one of the most influential figures in modern Arabic pop.

Over the decades, the singer has helped shape the sound of contemporary Arab music by blending traditional Arabic melodies with international genres such as Mediterranean pop, dance music, and Latin rhythms.

His 1996 album Nour El Ain, which included the global hit Habibi Ya Nour El Ain, propelled him to international fame, while later albums such as Tamally Maak (2000) became classics across the region.

Diab’s success has continued into the streaming era. His recent releases and collaborations frequently dominate digital charts, demonstrating his ability to adapt to changing music consumption habits.

His Ramadan advertising campaign featuring the song Naqsak El-Aada has also achieved massive online reach, surpassing 314 milliuon views on YouTube, 250 million on TikTok, and more than 50 million views on Instagram.

The artist’s achievements extend beyond chart performance. Throughout his career, Diab has won numerous regional and international awards including the seven World Music Awards, and 6 African Music Awards. He has been named the World's Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist, and is a Guinness World Records holder.

Maintaining the top spot on the Billboard Arabia chart for an entire year is particularly notable given the increasingly competitive landscape of Arabic music, where new artists and genres—from Arabic rap to indie pop—have expanded the region’s musical diversity.
