The 27-year-old Marmoush stole the spotlight, scoring twice to fire Manchester City ahead against Newcastle and help seal a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
“I'm very happy for Omar Marmoush. His second goal was magnificent. To beat Newcastle, you need a top performance - especially in the FA Cup," Guardiola told BBC Sport after the game.
“He’s a top-class striker, extremely clinical in front of goal. His second finish really sums up his qualities. He still needs to improve a bit in tight spaces and with his first touch," the City boss added.
“But he played a fantastic game. He fully deserves this moment. I’m absolutely delighted for him," Guardiola said.
Marmoush has scored six goals for Manchester City in all competitions in 26 appearances so far this season.
