Ambassador of Indonesia to Egypt Kuncoro Giri Waseso, on behalf of Indonesia’s National Alms Agency (BAZNAS), officially handed over five ambulances to the Chairman of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, Amr Rasheed.

The handover ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority under the Ministry of Health and Population, as part of the Indonesian people’s humanitarian solidarity with the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The five ambulances are intended to support medical services for Palestinian citizens currently in Egypt as a result of the conflict in Gaza. The vehicles are expected to strengthen emergency healthcare capacity, particularly in medical evacuation operations and the transfer of patients requiring advanced treatment.

The Indonesian ambassador stated that the assistance represents a trust from the Indonesian people, collected through BAZNAS, and reflects Indonesia’s firm commitment to humanitarian principles without discrimination or regard to national borders. He reaffirmed Indonesia’s continued support for humanitarian efforts aimed at protecting civilians affected by conflict, especially the Palestinian people.

For its part, the Egyptian Ambulance Authority expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s support and the close cooperation between the two sides, noting that this step reflects the depth of friendly relations between the two countries and provides direct assistance to those most in need, particularly Palestinians affected by the crisis.

Since the outbreak of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Indonesia has continued to channel humanitarian aid to Palestine through Egypt. The total assistance provided by the Indonesian government and 33 Indonesian relief organizations, including BAZNAS, through Egypt (as recorded by the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo) from 7 October 2023 until February 2026 has reached approximately $22 million, with a total weight of around 2,380 tons.
