Egypt’s national carrier, EgyptAir, will gradually resume flights to the United Arab Emirates beginning 9 March, restarting services to Sharjah and Dubai before restoring flights to Abu Dhabi, the airline said in a statement.

The carrier said the decision was made in light of the latest regional developments and was coordinated with the civil aviation authorities in Gulf states.

Starting Monday, 9 March, EgyptAir will operate one daily flight to Sharjah and two daily flights to Dubai, the airline elaborated.

Flights to Abu Dhabi will resume from Tuesday, 10 March, with one daily service operated in coordination with Abu Dhabi airport authorities.

EgyptAir said the resumption forms part of a gradual restoration of services to the UAE after disruptions to regional air traffic.

Passengers seeking further information can contact the EgyptAir call centre at 1717 from any mobile phone within Egypt, the landline number 090070000, or the international number +97142306666, the statement added.

On Friday, EgyptAir operated additional round-trip flights between Cairo and both Dubai and Dammam, as part of efforts to facilitate travel and meet rising passenger demand amid regional flight disruptions.

The resumption of EgyptAir flights to the United Arab Emirates follows widespread aviation disruption triggered by the regional war that began more than a week ago, when the United States and Israel launched major military strikes against Iran.

The attacks prompted Iranian retaliatory strikes across parts of the Gulf region, raising security concerns over missile and drone activity and leading several countries to close or restrict their airspace temporarily.

As a result, airlines across the Middle East were forced to cancel or reroute flights. EgyptAir suspended services from Cairo to several regional destinations, including cities in the Gulf, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon, while monitoring developments and coordinating with aviation authorities.

Despite the escalation, Egypt kept its airspace open and operating normally, while preparing to receive flights diverted from neighbouring countries affected by the conflict.

The gradual resumption of EgyptAir flights to the UAE signals a cautious reopening of some regional aviation routes as airspace restrictions begin to ease following the outbreak of the war.
