According to a statement published on CAF’s website, the winner of the CAF Champions League will receive $6 million, a 50% increase from the previous $4 million.
The winner of the CAF Confederation Cup will be awarded $4 million, double the previous prize of $2 million.
Over the past five years, prize money in CAF’s inter-club competitions has risen considerably. The Champions League winners’ reward increased from $2.5 million in 2024 to $4 million in 2025, before reaching $6 million in the current campaign.
The Confederation Cup prize has also grown steadily, rising from $1.25 million in 2024 to $2 million in 2025 and $4 million in 2026.
The latest increases bring the overall prize money and solidarity payments to African clubs to more than $42 million per season, up 123.4% from $18.8 million in 2021.
In 2024, CAF introduced a solidarity payment of $50,000 for clubs eliminated in the preliminary round, which was increased to $100,000 a year later.
The latest move comes just months after CAF raised the prize money for the winner of the Africa Cup of Nations to $10 million, up from $7 million awarded in 2023.
The finals dates:
- Champions League: The two-legged finals will be played on 15 May and 24 May.
- Confederation Cup: The two-legged finals will be played between 09 May and 16 May.
