“Mawlana, the Lover of God” painting exhibition by Italian artist Antonella Leoni. In Sufism, love is the cause of existence, the inspiration behind which the whole universe came into being. To Sufis, the purpose of creation is knowing God, and love is the mean by which they fulfill such an objective. In this exhibition, Leoni portrayed verses from Qur’an and Gospel, poems from Shams al Tabrizi, Jalal al-Din al Rumi, Ibn Arabi, and Rabiaa al-Adawiyya. This is an invitation to feel the Divine Love and Mercy to one’s heart, the place where the Beloved and the lovers unites (closing 15 March).
