
UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty
This came during a phone call with his Emirati counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss the repercussions of the military escalation in the region, according to the Egyptian foreign ministry.
The Egyptian FM affirmed Cairo’s full solidarity with Abu Dhabi in facing any threats against the country’s diplomatic missions or affecting its security.
The Egyptian foreign minister also extended Cairo’s condolences to the Emirati government and people for the death of two members of the UAE Armed Forces following a helicopter crash.
Earlier on Tuesday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a drone attack had targeted the country’s Consulate General in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, which resulted in material damage with no injuries reported.
A day earlier, the UAE Ministry of Defence announced the death of two members of the Armed Forces following a helicopter crash due to a technical malfunction.
Egypt has categorically rejected the Iranian attacks on the UAE and other Arab Gulf countries since the start of the US/Israel war on Iran.
