00:50 Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has confirmed that it carried out a coordinated attack on Israel with Hezbollah.
In a statement to Nour News, the IRGC said the attack involved the launch of missiles against Tel Aviv, as well as the “occupied territories of Jerusalem, Haifa," and US bases in Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, a senior Israeli defence official said Iran and Hezbollah had carried out a joint missile strike on northern Israel.
00:30 Alerts also blared in the north, where Hezbollah has fired drones and rockets into Israel.
Israel’s military said shortly after midnight that it was working to intercept missiles launched from Iran.
00:10 UAE air defence systems have successfully intercepted six ballistic missiles, seven cruise missiles, and 39 drones launched from Iran on Wednesday, the country’s defence ministry said in a statement.
Since the start of the “brazen Iranian aggression," UAE air defences have neutralized a total of 268 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,514 drones, it added.
The ministry said these repeated attacks have resulted in six deaths and wounded 131.
23:35 Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations earlier addressed the UN Security Council after it voted in favour of a draft resolution sponsored by the Gulf Cooperation Council demanding that Tehran stop its retaliatory attacks against US allies in the Gulf.
“The decision is a clear injustice against my country, which is the main victim of a clear and unambiguous act of aggression,” Amir Saeid Iravani said.
The decision distorts the facts on the ground and ignores the root causes of the current crisis, he added.
"The attack on us began with the assassination of the supreme leader and officials, which led to the deaths of thousands of victims."
Iravani said more than 1,348 civilians have been killed and more than 17,000 injured since the US and Israel launched their joint attack on 28 February.
More than 19,000 civilian sites, including homes and hospitals, were also damaged, he said.
23:25 The Kuwaiti army said a short while ago that national air defence systems were responding to hostile missile and drone attacks.

Oman’s civil defence is working on containing a fire in fuel tanks at the port in Salalah, Oman’s state news agency reported on Wednesday, after drones struck oil storage facilities there.
The state news agency, citing Oman’s civil defence, said that containing the fire “might take time,” without providing further details.
Earlier on Wednesday, Oman’s state TV said that drones struck fuel tanks in the port. Citing an energy ministry official, the report stated that there has been no disruption to the continuity of oil supplies or petroleum derivatives in the country.
British maritime security firm Ambrey told Reuters that no damage to merchant vessels was reported. Meanwhile, Maersk told Reuters that all operations at the port had been paused until further notice.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told Oman’s sultan in a phone call that the incident will be investigated, Iranian media reported.
22:30 The UN Security Council adopted on Wednesday a Gulf-Jordanian draft resolution condemning Iranian attacks on Gulf states and Jordan and demanding their cessation.
Resolution 2817 was adopted by a vote of 13 in favour, with Russia and China abstaining. No country voted against it.
The Security Council condemned Iran's attacks on residential areas and civilian infrastructure in the Gulf and Jordan, and the resulting casualties and damage, deeming them a violation of international law and a threat to international peace.
The Security Council demanded an immediate end to Iranian attacks on countries in the region.
The resolution also condemns any action or threat by Iran aimed at closing, obstructing, or interfering in any way with international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Following the adoption of the resolution, Bahrain's representative to the UN said, "The adoption of this resolution sends a message from the Security Council that Iranian aggression is unacceptable."
Jamal Al-Ruwaie emphasized, "The security and stability of the region are an integral part of global peace. We, along with the Gulf states, affirm our right to defend ourselves."
20:30 Ambassadors from the Gulf countries have spoken to reporters ahead of a Security Council vote later on a draft resolution which demands Iran immediately cease its attacks, including through proxies, on them and Jordan.
Collectively, over the last 12 days, they say they have been targeted with 950 Iranian missiles and 2,500 drones, most of which have been intercepted.
The ambassadors stated that these attacks were targeted not at military locations, but at residential buildings, airports, energy installations, and other critical civilian infrastructure.
The Gulf nations have more than 90 countries co-sponsoring their resolution.
Qatari Ambassador to the UN Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani said if the Security Council failed to pass the draft, it would send a dangerous signal that attacks against uninvolved neighbours carry no consequences.
She also warned that Iran’s threats to its territory “impacts deeply the foundation of understanding” upon which their bilateral relations were built.
Clearly, the region feels betrayed after engaging in intense diplomacy to prevent an attack by the US and Israel, only to come under fire themselves.
These nations now say they do not want escalation, but also will not hesitate to defend themselves.
22:00 The International Energy Agency's announcement on Wednesday of a record release of oil from strategic reserves failed to ease supply concerns, with crude prices pushing higher and global equities mostly dropping.

19:20 When asked on Wednesday if a preliminary determination has been made into responsibility for the strike that killed more than 165 people, mostly children, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded that “the investigation is still ongoing.”
Trump was later asked, as he left the White House, about a report in The New York Times that a preliminary military probe had found the US was responsible for striking the school because of a targeting mistake.
When asked if he took responsibility for the airstrike as the commander-in-chief of US forces, Trump responded by saying, “I don’t know about it.”
He did not say anything more.
18:30 There were no deaths or injuries reported after a US embassy operations centre at Baghdad’s airport was hit by a drone launched by Iraq-based Iranian proxies, a State Department official said.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because an investigation into the attack is still ongoing, said Wednesday that the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Centre “was targeted by Iran-backed terrorist militias overnight.” The actual US embassy compound in Baghdad was not struck in the attack.
The official condemned the strike and said the US was in close contact with Iraqi authorities “regarding steps to protect US personnel and facilities.”

The UNSC is expected to vote later today on two draft resolutions related to the US-Israeli war on Iran.
The first draft, submitted by Bahrain, condemns the Iranian attacks targeting Gulf countries and Jordan.
Russia, in turn, has submitted a counter-draft condemning all attacks on civilians and calling on all sides to cease hostilities and return to negotiations.
16:19 Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned of a long "war of attrition," as the conflict with the United States and Israel presses on.
"They (the enemies) must consider the possibility that they will be engaged in a long-term war of attrition that will destroy the entire American economy and the world economy, and will cause all of its military capabilities to be eroded to the point of destruction," Ali Fadavi, advisor to the Guards' Commander-in-Chief, told state television.

15:14 US B-1 bombers were seen flying back to RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire this morning after what appears to be the first bombing run conducted by the US Air Force from a British airbase since the start of the war on Iran.
Photographs taken by Reuters around 7 am show the B-1s, which can carry 75,000kg worth of munitions, returning from an overnight mission.
Permission for the US bombing of Iran from UK bases was initially refused by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who then changed his mind on the second day of the conflict, saying the bases could be used to strike Iranian missile launch sites.
Long-range photography showed bombs being prepared for loading on Tuesday. Eleven B-1s and 3 B-52 bombers have been deployed to Fairford, which is a home base for US Air Force bombers in Europe.
15:00 Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was injured in the 28 February attack that killed six of his family members, including his father, Tehran’s ambassador to Cyprus, Alireza Salarian, told the Guardian.
“I have heard that he was injured in his legs, hand, and arm … I think he is in the hospital because he is injured.”
"It was the 10th day of the holy month of Ramadan, said the ambassador, and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was at his residence with several members of his family, including Mojtaba’s wife, Zahra, who was also killed in the attack."
Ali Khamenei’s wife, their daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter’s 14-month-old baby were also killed in the US-Israeli attack.
“They were inside their house near the presidential office," said Salarian.
Earlier this morning, Yousef Pezeshkian, a top government adviser and the son of Iran’s president, said Mojtaba Khamenei was wounded but stopped short of explaining how. "Thank God, he is safe and sound,” he said in a post on his Telegram channel.
Earlier this week, Iranian state TV described the regime’s new leader as a “wounded veteran of the Ramadan war” but did not specify his injuries.

"Any vessel whose oil cargo or the vessel itself belongs to the United States, the Zionist regime or their hostile allies will be considered legitimate targets," said the military's central operational command, Khatam Al-Anbiya, in a statement carried by state TV.
It reiterated that Iran's armed forces "will not allow a single litre of oil to transit" through the strait, adding that the "closure of this strait is the result of conditions imposed by the US and the Zionist regime."
"Any vessel that intends to pass through must obtain permission from Iran," the IRGC Navy Commander Ali Reza Tangsiri said in a post on X.
14:15 Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they had targeted several US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for the US-Israeli war. 14:00 The US embassy in Baghdad urged US citizens to leave Iraq, citing the risk of attacks and kidnappings.
“There have been attacks against US citizens and US interests in Iraq, and Americans face the risk of kidnapping,” the statement said. “American businesses, hotels frequented by foreigners, and other facilities in Iraq, including those with US ties, have been attacked.”
Iraq’s airspace is closed, but land borders are open for crossing into Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
“Americans should strongly consider departing via one of these overland routes if they believe it is safe to do so,” the statement said.
13:51 Spain government on Tuesday decided to remove its ambassador to Israel, according to the official state gazette published today.
Spain's embassy in Tel Aviv will be led by a charge d'affaires, a source at the Foreign Ministry said.
Spain has pledged to keep opposing the war waged by the United States and Israel against Iran. Madrid has refused to let the US army use its bases for missions linked to strikes on Iran.
13:40 A Thai bulk carrier travelling in the crucial Strait of Hormuz was attacked, with 20 crew members rescued so far, the Thai navy said.
Photos shared by the Royal Thai Navy showed heavy black smoke billowing from the hull and superstructure of the Thai-registered Mayuree Naree, with life rafts floating in the water.
The vessel "was attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz" after departing Khalifa port in the United Arab Emirates, the navy said in a statement.
"The specific details and cause of the attack are currently under investigation," it added.
The Omani navy had rescued 20 sailors, and "efforts are currently underway to rescue the remaining three crew members," it said.
It was not immediately clear whether the incident was one of three commercial ships that the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations centre earlier said had been hit in the Gulf.
Ship-tracking websites showed the Mayuree Naree just off the Omani coast in the Strait of Hormuz, moving slowly at little more than one knot.
13:29 Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the conflict in the Middle East with his UAE counterpart, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Kremlin says.

Several sites, including Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Ali Al Salem Air Base and Camp Buehring in Kuwait, and the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, have been struck multiple times, the report said.
Satellite images also show damage to air defence radar systems and communications infrastructure across the region, some valued at hundreds of millions of dollars.

12:32 Japan says it will begin withdrawing part of the oil reserve on 16 March.
"Without waiting for a formal decision on coordinated international stock releases with the IEA, Japan has decided to take the lead in easing supply and demand in the international energy market by releasing strategic reserves as early as the 16th of this month," Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said.
Japan has been working with other nations, including the Group of Seven major economies and members of the International Energy Agency (IEA), on a possible coordinated release of oil to offset rising crude prices due to the Middle East conflict.
But Takaichi said Tokyo needed to act quickly to minimize the impact of the international energy crisis on its economy.
"Given Japan's exceptionally high dependence on the Middle East (for oil) and as we will be severely impacted, we plan to utilise Japan's strategic petroleum reserves," she said.
Germany and Austria also said they are releasing parts of their oil reserves to counter high energy prices.
12:16 Iranian army forces said they targeted the Israeli military intelligence organization known as "Aman," Unit 8200, the Green Pine radar, and the submarine command building at the Haifa naval base with drone attacks.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it launched overnight its "most intense and heaviest operation," according to Iranian state media.
The wave of attacks, which Iran said was aimed at US and Israeli targets, included some three hours of missile launches, including the firing of a "Khorramshahr," a type of medium-range ballistic missile, state media reported.
"We continue to carry out our continuous attacks with purpose and power, and in the continuation of the war, we only think about the complete surrender of the enemy," the IRGC added.
"We will end the war when the shadow of war is lifted from the country."
12:10 The war raging in much of the Middle East must be stopped before it engulfs the entire region at increasing cost to the global economy, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
"The whole world will pay the price of the US–Israeli war on Iran," he added.
"This war must be stopped before it becomes bigger and completely engulfs the region in flames," he said, warning that if it continued, "there will be more loss of life and property, and the cost to the global economy."
12:09 The UK government has banned an annual pro-Palestinian march planned for Sunday, which London police claim is organized by a group "supportive of the Iranian regime."
Interior Minister Shabana Mahmood said she had approved the rare police request to prevent what it calls "serious public disorder" if the Al-Quds Day march and counter-protests had gone ahead.
It is the first time a protest march has been banned since 2012, but a static demonstration will be permitted, according to London's Metropolitan police.

11:55 The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the Iran war has already cost the 27-nation bloc’s citizens around 3 billion euros ($3.5 billion) in energy imports and warned Europe must resist the temptation to buy Russian oil and gas again.
“Gas prices have risen by 50%, and oil prices have risen by 27%. If you translate that into euros, the 10 days of war have already cost European taxpayers an additional 3 billion euros in fossil fuel imports,” she said.
“That is the price of our dependency,” she told EU lawmakers in Strasbourg, France, noting the price of European renewables and nuclear energy has remained steady.
Von der Leyen rejected calls for the EU to return to buying Russian energy, which the bloc has stopped doing since the start of the war in Ukraine in 2022.

11:45 Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni, a close ally of Donald Trump, said the US-Israeli war on Iran violates international law.
Meloni, in an address to the Italian Senate, described a broader international crisis “in which threats are becoming increasingly terrifying and unilateral interventions outside the confines of international law are multiplying.”
She said that the “American and Israeli intervention against the Iranian regime” should be understood as part of that broader crisis.
Meloni also condemned the US-Israeli missile strike on a school in Iran, calling for those responsible to be identified.
The United States and Israel have conducted a deadly missile attack on a school, killing at least 168 girls aged between 7 and 11.
"On behalf of the government, I express my firm condemnation of the massacre of girls at the school in Minab, southern Iran," the far-right leader told the Italian Senate.
11:29 According to FIFA chief Gianni Infantino, US President Donald Trump said that Iran is "welcome" to participate in the upcoming World Cup in North America, despite the ongoing war.
The war, triggered by US-Israeli strikes, has thrown into doubt Iran's participation at this summer's men's football World Cup, jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
During a meeting to discuss preparations for the competition, "we also spoke about the current situation in Iran," Infantino, the head of world football's governing body, wrote on Instagram.
"During the discussions, President Trump reiterated that the Iranian team is, of course, welcome to compete in the tournament in the United States," he wrote.
Trump's remarks to Infantino are a stark contrast to his comments to Politico last week, when he said "I really don't care" if Iran plays at the World Cup.

10:51 Iranian protesters will be treated as enemies if they support Tehran's foes, the country's top police officer warned.
"If anyone comes forward in line with the wishes of the enemy, we will no longer see them as merely a protester, we will see them as an enemy," said national police chief Ahmad-Reza Radan in comments aired by state broadcaster IRIB.
"And we will do to them what we do to an enemy. We will deal with them in the same way we deal with enemies," he added.
"All our forces are also ready, with their hands on the trigger, prepared to defend their revolution."

It was the third attack reported today.
10:41 Energy ministers of the G7 said they "stand ready" to take "all necessary measures" in coordination with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to tackle the rise in crude oil prices due to the Middle East war.
The IEA has proposed its largest-ever release of oil reserves to counter soaring crude prices driven by the war, the Wall Street Journal reported, prompting oil prices to stabilize.
It proposes the release of about 300 million to 400 million barrels from its stockpile, the largest in its history.
France's Finance Minister Roland Lescure said G7 heads of state would discuss reserves in a meeting at 1400 GMT.
10:33 Some tankers, believed to be linked to Iran, are continuing to get through the Strait of Hormuz.
Some of the ships getting through are so-called “dark” transits, meaning they are not turning on their Automatic Identification System tracks, which show where vessels are.
The security firm Neptune P2P Group claimed that seven ships had passed through the strait since 8 March. Of those, five were linked to Iranian-associated shipping, it said.

The commodity-tracking firm Kpler said Iran has restarted crude exports through its Jask oil terminal on the Gulf of Oman.
10:32 A projectile hit a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, setting the vessel ablaze after the United States targeted Iranian minelaying vessels that could target the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations centre, run by the British military, said the vessel had been hit just north of Oman in the strait.
