Egypt’s current cold spell is expected to gradually ease starting Thursday, bringing warmer daytime temperatures across most parts of the country, while early mornings and nights will remain relatively cool, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Wednesday.

According to the authority, the weather will be chilly in the early morning, warm during the day across most areas, and cooler again at night, with hotter conditions in southern Upper Egypt.

The EMA also noted that morning fog is likely between 4 am. and 9 am. over parts of northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai, and may become dense, reducing visibility on some roads.

On Friday and Saturday, there will be a chance of light rain over parts of the northwestern coast and northern Nile Delta, while scattered light showers may reach some areas of Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, and northern Upper Egypt at times.

Meanwhile, moderate winds of 30-35 km/h are expected intermittently across the northern coasts, the Nile Delta, Greater Cairo, and parts of the Western Desert.

Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday may bring varying rainfall chances across northern parts of the country, the Red Sea governorate, and Sinai, accompanied by stronger winds that could reach 40–50 km/h and stir up sand and dust in some areas.

Meteorologists also expect noticeable but typical seasonal fluctuations in the weather during the final days of Ramadan, with cool mornings and nights and pleasantly warm afternoons in most regions.

The authority advised motorists to take extra care during the early morning due to fog and encouraged the public, particularly children and the elderly, to dress appropriately for the cooler hours of the day.

Farmers were also urged to follow technical guidance to protect crops that may be sensitive to strong winds or sudden temperature changes.

The EMA recommended keeping an eye on daily weather updates as conditions may shift over the coming days.
