Speaking during an iftar banquet he hosted at his residence on Tuesday evening, Ambassador Şen praised the development of Egyptian-Turkish relations and the security and stability Egypt enjoys under the leadership of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
In the face of the wars and dangers that have recently emerged in the region, he said, Turkey and Egypt need “solidarity and cooperation more than ever.”
Şen said Turkey, under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, would continue all forms of solidarity, cooperation, consultation, and coordination with Egypt across economic, social, cultural, and political fields.
The ambassador noted that Egypt and Turkey are among the largest countries in the Islamic world and share deep historical ties. He pointed to the recent formation of the Egyptian-Turkish Strategic Cooperation Council, which aims to expand collaboration in areas including the economy, trade, and tourism.
The initiative, he said, forms part of broader efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries across multiple sectors.
Şen also highlighted the shared cultural and religious significance of Ramadan, saying both societies place great value on the holy month and the principles of solidarity and unity it represents.

He added that the strength of a nation lies not only in “tanks, guns, oil, gas, and gold”, but also in the spirit of sharing and solidarity among communities that share a common destiny, united by faith and spirit.
The ambassador said Erdoğan closely follows the atmosphere of Ramadan in Egypt and recently hosted an Egyptian Quran reciter at an iftar in Turkey.
Şen said Egyptian society experiences this spirit of solidarity throughout Ramadan “in the streets, homes and institutions”, describing the month as not only a time of worship but also one of generosity and communal sharing.
He noted that, as a Turk, he considers himself part of Egyptian society during Ramadan.
