Turkish embassy in Cairo hosts iftar, distributes Ramadan aid to 500 Palestinians

As part of a humanitarian initiative organized by the Turkish embassy in Cairo and the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (İHH), financial assistance and food parcels were distributed to 500 Palestinians, alongside a communal iftar.

Speaking at the event, Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu Şen said Ramadan is a sacred time when the values of solidarity, compassion, and brotherhood are felt most strongly.

He noted that sharing the blessings of the holy month with Palestinian brothers and sisters once again carries deep meaning and responsibility.

Mutlu Şen emphasized that Turkey’s solidarity with the Palestinian people remains strong, reflecting the commitment and policy set by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

He stated that humanitarian assistance is being delivered in coordination with relevant institutions and organizations and will continue in the same spirit.

The ambassador also expressed his appreciation to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Egyptian institutions for their support in facilitating the delivery of this humanitarian aid.

He added that such initiatives are not merely aid programmes but also a clear expression of the bonds of brotherhood between Turkey and the Palestinian people.

According to Mutlu Şen, iftar programmes and aid distributions to Palestinian families will continue in the coming period with contributions from Turkish institutions and civil society organizations.

Concluding his remarks, the ambassador said he believes the Palestinian people will overcome the current difficult circumstances with patience and perseverance. He also expressed hope that they will return to their homes and urged them not to lose hope.
