Speaking at the annual Egyptian Family Iftar held at the Air Force House in Cairo, President El-Sisi warned that the region is at a “historic crossroads,” facing serious challenges and rapid developments with direct implications for Egypt’s domestic situation.

The Egyptian Family Iftar was attended by senior state officials, including Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Speaker of the House of Representatives Hesham Badawi, Defence Minister Ashraf Salem Zaher, and Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II, along with ministers and representatives from various segments of Egyptian society.

In his speech, the Egyptian leader noted that the ongoing conflict carries sweeping economic, humanitarian, and security repercussions that “no one will be able to avert and that will affect everyone without exception.”

He added that Egypt is simultaneously working to reduce tensions in other Arab countries experiencing armed conflicts, both to the east, west, and south of the country.

In this context, El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s firm condemnation of attacks targeting Arab states and threats to their security and stability amid the ongoing regional conflicts.

“Egypt renews its firm condemnation of the attacks faced by our sister Arab states and reaffirms its full and steadfast support for our Arab brothers,” he said, calling for “de-escalation, prioritizing dialogue and reason, and adherence to the rules of international law and international humanitarian law.”

The president also warned that ongoing conflicts—including the war in the Gaza Strip and tensions involving Iran—have cast heavy shadows over the global economy, disrupting supply chains and driving up energy and food prices worldwide.

“These developments have not left Egypt untouched,” El-Sisi said, noting that the government had been forced to take economic measures to ensure the continued availability of strategic goods and safeguard economic stability.
