The strike hit a house in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing a couple in their 30s and their 10-year-old son, according to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, as reported by Associated Press. The woman was pregnant with twins.

A fourth victim, a 15-year-old neighbor, was taken to Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat. The boy’s younger brother was wounded in the strike, the hospital said.

“We were sleeping and got up to the strike of a missile. The strike was strong,” said Mahmoud al-Muhtaseb, a neighbor. “There was no prior warning.”

Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza’s civil defence, said 10 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across the enclave in the 24 hours leading up to Sunday morning, including in Gaza City, Khan Younis and the Nuseirat camp.

Israeli forces also continued artillery shelling and gunfire targeting eastern areas of the Gaza Strip, according to local reports.

Heavy artillery struck eastern Gaza City and northern Beit Lahia, while Israeli tanks shelled areas south of Khan Younis. Homes were also reported to have been demolished near the “Yellow Line”.

With the latest deaths, the total Palestinian death toll since the October ceasefire, brokered by Cairo, Doha, Ankara, and Washington, has risen to 663, with more than 1,754 people wounded, according to the Palestinian health ministry. Rescue teams have also recovered 756 bodies from beneath the rubble.

Overall, since the outbreak of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, Israeli forces have killed 72,239 Palestinians and wounded 171,860 others, most of them women and children.
