The visit carries "a message of solidarity and unwavering support for the Kingdom of Jordan as it navigates the security challenges currently facing the region," a foreign ministry statement read.
Talks are expected to focus on de-escalating tensions, advancing the diplomatic track, and strengthening coordination among Arab states, reflecting the shared destiny that binds Egypt and Jordan, the statement added.
The tour comes amid the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran, now in its third week, as Washington and Tel Aviv intensify their strikes on Iranian territory while Tehran presses its retaliatory campaign against Israeli and US military targets across the Gulf, as well as inside Iraq and Jordan.
Iranian strikes have targeted US military bases and energy facilities in Arab states.
Jordanian air defences intercepted dozens of Iranian drones and missiles, with Iranian strikes also reportedly hitting a German field camp in eastern Jordan.
Since the outbreak of the war on 28 February, Egypt has also reiterated its categorical rejection of Iranian attacks on Arab countries, urging de-escalation to prevent the region from sliding into a full-scale war with potentially catastrophic consequences.
During his previous stops, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s solidarity with Arab nations and urged advanced security coordination among them.
During a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian, El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s regret over the current escalation and its deep concern about its negative repercussions for regional stability and the well-being of the region's people.
