The widening regional conflict began on 28 February when the United States and Israel launched coordinated military strikes across Iran, targeting its leadership, military infrastructure, and key population centres.
In the hours and days that followed, Iranian forces retaliated with missiles and drones aimed at US military bases, Gulf states hosting coalition forces, and targets inside Israel.
Below is a breakdown of the death toll and destruction across the region:
Iran: US-Israeli strikes in Iran have killed at least 1,444 people and injured 18,551, including hundreds of women and children, Iranian authorities report.
The American Israeli strikes have destroyed 153 healthcare facilities and 43,000 residential and commercial units, leaving thousands out in the cold.
The damaged structures included 36,469 residential units and 6,179 commercial facilities, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.
The US-Israeli war has also taken a heavy toll on women, with 223 women and girls killed and 2,129 others wounded since 28 February, Mohajerani said.
United States: The Pentagon confirmed that more than 200 US military personnel have been wounded in the war, including in Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Thirteen service members have been killed, including several in a refuelling plane crash in Iraq and in drone strikes targeting US assets in the region.
Lebanon: The Israeli escalation of bombing of Lebanon on 2 March has killed 900 civilians, including hundreds of women and children, and displaced more than 1 million civilians.
Entire communities and critical infrastructure have been heavily damaged in 24/7 Israeli airstrikes for 17 days.
Gulf States: Iranian retaliatory strikes against targets in Arab Gulf states have killed at least 27 people, including in Bahrain and other kingdoms, with additional injuries and widespread infrastructure damage.
Iraq: Israeli and American airstrikes on Iran-aligned armed groups and the Popular Mobilization Forces, which is part of the Iraqi armed forces, have killed and wounded tens of fighters, triggering retaliation against the American embassy in Baghdad and US-linked interests in Iraq and elsewhere.
Humanitarian agencies have warned that the escalation of strikes targeting civilian infrastructure could further worsen the crisis, particularly in Lebanon and Iran.
In these countries, health systems are already under severe strain, and access to medical care, emergency relief, and essential services remains critically limited amid ongoing violence and widespread displacement.
