The agreement was signed in Riyadh on Wednesday by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on the sidelines of a ministerial consultative meeting in the Saudi capital.

Under the deal, citizens of both countries holding diplomatic or special passports will be able to travel between Egypt and Saudi Arabia without obtaining a short-stay visa, on the basis of reciprocity.

The arrangement is intended to streamline the movement of officials, facilitate the execution of formal duties, and strengthen institutional coordination between Cairo and Riyadh.

The signing is part of broader ongoing efforts to develop the bilateral framework across multiple areas of mutual interest, the statement noted.
