
Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
In a statement released on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its full solidarity with both countries and with all Gulf states.
The Egyptian statement comes after national security services in both countries announced that they had thwarted and dismantled allegedly a Hezbollah-backed networks responsible for these plots.
The statement reaffirmed Cairo's support for Kuwait and the UAE in confronting any attempts to undermine their sovereignty, compromise their security and stability, or threaten their citizens and residents.
Egypt expressed its full support for all security and legal measures taken by the competent authorities in Kuwait, the UAE, and across the Gulf to protect their people, safeguard their resources, and preserve their internal stability.
Egypt also reiterated its categorical rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, and of any attempts to destabilize the region.
On Friday, the UAE security authorities said the network was operating under “a fictitious” commercial cover, and was involved in "money laundering, financing terrorism. On Monday, the Kuwaiti authorities said they had uncovered a group linked to Hezbollah that was planning acts aimed at undermining national security.
However, Hezbollah denied the Kuwaiti and Emirati accusations in a separate statement.
Since the outbreak of the US-Israeli war on Iran on 28 February, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks on US military bases and energy facilities across the Gulf, Jordan and Iraq.
