The Egyptian statement comes after national security services in both countries announced that they had thwarted and dismantled allegedly a Hezbollah-backed networks responsible for these plots.

Egypt also reiterated its categorical rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, and of any attempts to destabilize the region.

On Friday, the UAE security authorities said the network was operating under “a fictitious” commercial cover, and was involved in "money laundering, financing terrorism. However, Hezbollah denied the Kuwaiti and Emirati accusations in a separate statement.
