Egypt will see a brief period of unsettled spring weather starting Tuesday evening, with rain, slightly cooler temperatures, and stronger winds expected across several regions before conditions gradually improve by the weekend.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority said the weather instability will begin along the northwestern coast, including Salloum, Matrouh, and Alamein, before spreading inland.

Light to moderate rain is forecast for parts of the northern coast, the Delta, Sinai, the Western Desert, and the Red Sea governorate. Coastal areas may experience heavier showers later on Tuesday, it added.

Rainfall is expected to increase on Wednesday and Thursday, with showers becoming more widespread and occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, particularly along the northern coast, northern Delta, and parts of Sinai. Lighter rain could reach Greater Cairo and the Canal cities.

In some locations, especially in Sinai, rainfall may fall in heavier, short bursts, according to EMA.

In Greater Cairo, daytime highs are expected to fall from around 23°C on Tuesday to about 18°C on Wednesday and Thursday. Nighttime temperatures will range from 11°C to 13°C, making evenings and early mornings noticeably chilly.

Along the northern coast and Delta, daytime temperatures will range between 16°C and 20°C, with more clouds and rain, while nights remain cool at 10–12°C.

Northern Upper Egypt should expect daytime highs of nearly 20°C. Egypt's deep south will remain relatively warm, though temperatures will drop from around 33°C to the high 20s during the day, with milder nights.

Strong winds will sweep across much of the country, especially in desert and exposed areas, occasionally carrying sand and dust that can reduce visibility on highways and open roads.

From Friday onward, weather conditions are expected to improve, with rain becoming less likely, winds easing, and temperatures rising slightly.

The weekend is expected to see milder and more settled spring weather, although nights will remain cool.

These shifts are typical for March, as Egypt transitions from winter to spring, a period often marked by sudden temperature changes, intermittent rain, and gusty winds.
