The closure applies to students, teachers, and all school staff, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, said.
The education minister said the decision was made to ensure equal opportunities for students nationwide and to protect them from risks posed by severe weather.
Meanwhile, Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Abdelaziz Konsowa on Tuesday directed all universities and institutes nationwide to suspend in-person classes on Wednesday and Thursday due to the forecast of unstable weather conditions.
In a statement, the ministry said the decision was based on warnings issued by the EMA indicating potential disruptions to weather patterns during the two days.
The country will experience a brief period of unsettled spring weather starting Tuesday evening, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced.
The EMA expects rain and stronger winds across several regions before conditions gradually improve by the weekend.
The EMA said the weather instability will begin along the northwestern coast, including Salloum, Matrouh, and Alamein, before spreading inland.
Light to moderate rain is forecast for parts of the northern coast, the Delta, Sinai, the Western Desert, and the Red Sea governorate.
Coastal areas may experience heavier showers later on Tuesday, it added.
Rainfall is expected to increase on Wednesday and Thursday, with showers becoming more widespread and occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, particularly along the northern coast, northern Delta, and parts of Sinai.
Lighter rain could reach Greater Cairo and the Canal cities.
In some locations, especially in Sinai, rainfall may occur in heavier, short bursts, according to the EMA.
