The two officials discussed efforts to contain the escalation and prevent the situation from deteriorating further, amid ongoing coordination between the two countries.
Abdelatty warned of the risks posed by continued violence, saying it could lead to wider instability and threaten international peace and security. He called for prioritizing diplomatic solutions and intensifying de-escalation efforts.
He also reiterated Egypt’s condemnation of attacks targeting Kuwait and other Gulf states and that Gulf security is an integral part of Cairo's national security—a stance welcomed by his Kuwaiti counterpart.
Abdelatty also expressed appreciation for the swift response of Kuwaiti authorities to a request by the Egyptian embassy in Kuwait to refer a memorandum concerning an article by an individual to the Kuwaiti public prosecutor.
The article reportedly contained highly offensive and unacceptable remarks about Egypt and Egyptians.
He said the legal action reflects the depth and strength of the historic ties between Egypt and Kuwait and helps counter any attempts to undermine the longstanding relations and shared destiny of the two nations.
