The convoy, part of the Zad El-Ezza initiative, set off early in the morning with several trucks loaded with urgent humanitarian aid, reinforcing the organization’s role as Egypt’s national mechanism for coordinating relief to Gaza.
The convoy, the 163rd sent since the start of the war, included about 3,360 tonnes of aid, according to the organization. This comprised roughly 990 tonnes of food, including flour, 1,075 tonnes of medicines and relief supplies, and around 1,300 tonnes of fuel for hospitals and essential services.
It also carried winter assistance, including more than 17,000 items of clothing, about 240 mattresses, and over 2,000 tents for displaced people.
The shipment is part of an ongoing Egyptian relief effort coordinated through the ERC, which has maintained operations near the border since the outbreak of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza began in October 2023.
Aid has continued to pass through the Rafah crossing, the main entry point for humanitarian supplies into Gaza from Egypt.
The organization said total aid delivered so far has exceeded 800,000 tonnes, with more than 65,000 volunteers involved in the effort.
