The measures come as authorities nationwide increase preparedness to limit the impact of a short period of severe weather expected to continue through Thursday, including thunderstorms, strong winds, and reduced visibility in several regions.
EgyptAir said passengers on international flights should arrive at least four hours before departure, while domestic travellers are advised to be at airports at least three hours before their scheduled flights.
The airline said the measures are intended to ensure smooth operations and avoid disruptions during the current weather conditions.
Separately, the Egyptian National Railways Authority said it has taken precautionary safety measures across its network in response to changing weather conditions affecting both Lower and Upper Egypt.
The authority warned that some train services may be delayed and apologized for disruptions caused by factors beyond its control until conditions improve.
It added that train speeds are being reduced in line with safety rules to protect passengers and operating crews, stressing that all necessary technical and operational steps are being taken to ensure services continue as safely and regularly as possible.
Egypt is experiencing heavy rainfall across several regions, especially Cairo, the northern coast, the Delta, and Sinai, with forecasts indicating continued unstable weather, including possible hail and dust-laden winds in some areas.
Authorities have also deployed emergency response teams, checked drainage capacity, and placed electricity networks on high alert, while in-person classes have been suspended nationwide as a precaution to ensure student safety.
