The event brought together Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, senior ministers, presidential advisers, and prominent Egyptian women from various sectors, as part of official efforts to highlight women’s role in development and social cohesion.
In opening remarks, Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsy and National Council for Women head Amal Ammar outlined ongoing state programmes supporting women’s empowerment, including expanded political and economic participation and increased access to leadership roles.
They also highlighted social protection programmes such as Takaful and Karama, increased financial support for families and female breadwinners, and broader efforts to promote women’s economic inclusion under Egypt Vision 2030.
In his address, President El-Sisi described Egyptian women, particularly mothers, as “the first school that raises generations,” highlighting their role in shaping values, strengthening families, and safeguarding the country’s internal cohesion.
He said women’s contribution to building and protecting the nation, especially amid what he described as “exceptional and delicate” regional and global conditions, is “not optional but essential.”
“Egyptian women are not just half of society, but a guarantee of its strength and cohesion,” El-Sisi stated, adding that national progress depends on their full participation.
The president also paid tribute to mothers who have endured hardship and loss, saying their sacrifices continue to underpin Egypt’s resilience and development.
He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to ensuring equality between men and women and implementing the Women’s Empowerment Strategy 2030, pledging continued efforts to expand women’s participation across political, economic, and social spheres.
During a discussion with attendees, El-Sisi stressed the importance of protecting women’s rights and achievements, noting the role of media and drama in shaping public attitudes and reinforcing respect for women.
He also called for greater attention to orphan care, services for the elderly, and support for people with disabilities, including studying the expansion of foster family systems, while praising civil society organizations for assisting vulnerable groups.
El-Sisi further directed officials to explore launching a “State of Arts and Creativity” programme aimed at identifying and supporting talent in fields such as sports and the arts.
