According to the ERC, the national coordination body for aid delivery to Gaza, the convoy carried 900 tonnes of food parcels and flour, as well as 900 tonnes of medical supplies and personal hygiene supplies.

Launched under the “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza” initiative, the Egyptian aid convoy also carried 1,200 tonnes of fuel to keep hospitals and vital facilities operating in the Strip.

In response to harsh weather conditions and heavy rainfalls sweeping the Strip, the ERC’s convoy carried vital winter supplies to alleviate the suffering of Gaza’s residents, including 2,000 tents to shelter displaced families.

The convoy comes as residents in Gaza are enduring a harsh winter as ongoing Israeli strikes continue to devastate infrastructure, leaving thousands without adequate shelter.

Severe shortages of food, medicine, and fuel have worsened the humanitarian crisis, deepened the crisis and increased fears of further suffering and catastrophic conditions.

The Egyptian convoy comes as part of Cairo’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people amidst Israel’s brutal war on Gaza and its violation of the ceasefire deal that was brokered by Egypt, the US, Qatar, and Turkey in October 2025.

Since October 2023, Cairo has delivered more than 800,000 tonnes of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, representing around 70 percent of all aid sent to the Strip, supported by the efforts of over 65,000 ERC volunteers’ workforce.

Meanwhile, Israel has continued its genocidal war on Gaza, killed over 72,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, wounded more than 171,000 others, and displaced over two million Palestinians.

In August 2025, the UN declared famine in Gaza due to the Israeli blockade of the strip.
