During the call, the two ministers stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to contain the crisis and end the war through dialogue and sustained engagement with all relevant parties.
FM Abdelatty warned that continued military escalation threatens regional and international peace and security, calling for prioritizing de-escalation, diplomacy, and dialogue to prevent the situation from spiralling into a broader confrontation with far-reaching consequences.
He also highlighted the significant economic repercussions of the ongoing escalation, including disruptions to global supply chains, maritime navigation, food and oil prices, and rising inflation, stressing the need for coordinated international action to mitigate these impacts.
Both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining close coordination and increasing diplomatic outreach to contain the crisis and prevent further deterioration.
The call also touched on bilateral relations, with Abdelatty expressing appreciation for the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China and the notable progress achieved in recent years across various sectors.
He voiced Egypt’s interest in further strengthening cooperation, particularly in financial areas, including expanding the currency swap agreement and enhancing collaboration with the China Development Bank.
The discussion comes as Egypt intensifies diplomatic efforts with regional and international partners aimed at easing tensions and preventing a wider conflict in an increasingly volatile region.
