The visit aims to further strengthen parliamentary cooperation and underscore the two countries’ shared strategic partnership as guarantors of peace and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, amid critical developments in the Middle East.
The programme includes high-level meetings with Egypt’s political leadership, briefings on major national development projects, and engagements with the Greek community in Egypt.
A key item on the agenda will be Kaklamanis’s meeting with Speaker of Egypt’s House of Representatives Hisham Badawi, during which the two sides are expected to discuss issues of mutual interest and ways to deepen dialogue between the two legislative bodies.
Kaklamanis will also be briefed on Egypt’s modern development trajectory during a special visit to the New Administrative Capital, where he is scheduled to tour landmark infrastructure and cultural projects, including the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ and the City of Arts and Culture.
Particular emphasis will also be placed on his engagement with the Greek community in Egypt. Kaklamanis is set to visit the Spetseropouleio Mansion in Heliopolis, Cairo, where he will meet officials from the Greek Community of Cairo, as well as teachers and students from the historic Greek schools, Achillopouleio and Ambetio.
The visit will also include culturally significant stops, notably the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and the Giza Pyramids archaeological site.
