The convoy, part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to deliver aid to Gaza, aims primarily to provide winter-focused assistance to the people of the strip, including hundreds of clothing items, more than 3,450 tarpaulins, and approximately 2, 650 tents.
In addition, the convoy's relief shipments included approximately 60,000 food parcels, around 920 tons of humanitarian aid, and more than 1,220 tons of fuel to support hospitals and critical facilities across the strip.
Similarly, the ERC received on Thursday the 25th batch of wounded and sick Palestinians via the Rafah border crossing.
Supported by over 65,000 volunteers, the ERC has continued operations at the Rafah border crossing since the start of the crisis, delivering 800,000 tons of aid.
According to the UN, the ceasefire deal that Israel and Palestinian resistance movements, most importantly Hamas, signed in Sharm El-Sheikh in October 2025, in the presence of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, pushed back the famine conditions in Gaza.
However, the UN warned that more than three-quarters of Gaza's population of 2.5 million still face acute hunger and malnutrition due to Israel's insistence on restricting the amount of aid entering the strip.
The UN added that the people of Gaza are still facing a severe shortage of clean water and medical supplies after Israel bombed water desalination plants and several hospitals.
Repeated displacement, as a result of Israel's relentless bombing, has forced hundreds of thousands into overcrowded shelters or makeshift camps, many of which are ill-equipped to withstand ongoing winter conditions, including heavy rain and low temperatures.
Gaza's health system is under severe strain, with hospitals operating at limited capacity due to fuel shortages, damage to facilities (including intensive care units and dialysis services), and a lack of essential medicines.
