In separate phone calls with the Pakistani and Turkish FMs, Abdelatty discussed the rapidly evolving regional developments and efforts to reduce the dangerous military escalation.
The Egyptian FM expressed hope that the joint Egyptian–Turkish–Pakistani efforts would lead to regional de-escalation and the launching of a gradual path toward calm, ultimately bringing the war to an end.
He stressed the necessity of concerted regional and global efforts to contain the situation, affirming that de-escalation and prioritizing diplomatic solutions remain the only way to manage the current crisis.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, the three ministers warned that the current escalation could drag the region into widespread chaos, violence, and terrorism.
Abdelatty affirmed on Thursday, during a presser in Beirut, that Egypt, Pakistan, and Turkey have mediated between the two sides over the past few days, carrying messages from one side to the other, as part of their attempt to end the escalating conflict.
The Egyptian FM addedthat a ministerial-level meeting, held in coordination with Pakistan and Turkey, is expected early next week to discuss the Iranian file.
