In the UAE, authorities said six people were injured after missile interceptions led to debris falling near the Khalifa Economic Zone in Abu Dhabi, close to Khalifa Port.
“Authorities further confirmed an additional injury as a result of the incident, to a Pakistani national, bringing the total number of injured individuals to six, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate,” the Abu Dhabi Media Office said.
The country’s defence ministry said its forces were intercepting missile and drone attacks launched from Iran, but did not specify the origin of the strike that caused the debris.
Meanwhile, Iran army spokesperson said that missile strikes have destroyed a Ukrainian anti-drone systems depot in Dubai.
This came a day after Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Dubai, where he met with his Emirati counterpart, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. According to Zelenskyy, the two leaders agreed to cooperate in the fields of security and defense. Ukraine is trying to position itself as having some of the world’s most advanced anti-drone defense systems, while the UAE seeks to leverage Ukraine’s expertise in this area to counter Iran.
In Kuwait, a drone attack on the airport caused “significant damage” to its radar system, the state-owned Kuwait News Agency (Kuna) reported. Civil aviation authorities said there were no injuries, adding the airport had been targeted multiple times since the start of the war, including a strike earlier this week that hit a fuel depot and sparked a large fire. Kuwaiti authorities have blamed Iran for the attacks.
In Saudi Arabia, more than two dozen US troops have been wounded in attacks on Prince Sultan Air Base over the past week, according to sources cited by The Associated Press (AP). A Friday attack involving six ballistic missiles and 29 drones wounded at least 15 personnel, including five seriously, the sources said. The base had also been targeted twice earlier in the week.
Tehran claimed that "multiple US E-3G Sentry AWACS aircraft were destroyed in the missile strike on the Base."
In Bahrain, sirens sounded across the country on Saturday as authorities warned of potential attacks and urged residents to seek shelter. The interior ministry said civil defence teams had extinguished a fire at a facility targeted earlier in the day.
Bahraini authorities said two people have been killed since the start of the conflict, including in a recent drone strike that hit a residential building in the capital, Manama.
Iran's military said that it had also targeted a US logistics vessel near the Omani port of Salalah.
"A logistics vessel supporting the aggressive US army was targeted by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran at a considerable distance from the port of Salalah in Oman," Ebrahim Zolfaghari, a spokesman for Iran's central military command, said in a statement carried by state TV.
However, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a post on X, that "Iran will not initiate attacks but will respond forcefully to any targeting of its infrastructure or economic centers," warning regional countries against allowing their territory to be used for attacks against Tehran.
Addressing the countries of the region, he said "If you want development and security, don't let our enemies run the war from your lands."
