The two internationally acclaimed Russian musical ensembles, M. Turetsky Choir and Soprano, gave a concert titled “Unity Songs” featuring a selection of beloved Russian songs alongside popular international musical pieces. The concert, held on 27 March, drew a large audience to the opera house’s Main Hall.
Attendees included Vadim Zaychikov, Director of Russian Cultural Centres in Egypt; Ibrahim Kamel, chairman of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association; and Sherif Gad, secretary-general of the association.

The audience also included several political figures, diplomats, and members of the Russian community living in Egypt, as well as the Egyptian public.
In his welcoming remarks, Yuri Matveev, Russia’s chargé d’affaires in Egypt, said the ensembles’ performances in Cairo and Alexandria make an important contribution to promoting Russian culture and reinforcing friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.

The evening concluded with a standing ovation from the audience, who filled the main hall and warmly applauded Mikhail Turetsky, who led the choir, and the performers in appreciation of what organizers described as a memorable musical experience.
