Combat efficiency key to stability and security: Egypt’s defence minister to officers

Egypt’s Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, has emphasized that maintaining combat efficiency and constant readiness is the true guarantee for achieving security and stability amid the ongoing regional events and changes.

The defence minister made his remarks during a meeting with officers and non-commissioned officers from the main branches of the Armed Forces at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defence.

The meeting was also attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with commanders of the main branches and a number of other senior Armed Forces commanders.

During the meeting, the minister also reviewed several current international and regional issues related to Egyptian national security, according to a statement released by the military spokesman on Sunday.

Furthermore, he urged the personnel to maintain weapons and equipment, and to enhance the skills and physical readiness of individual fighters, so that the Armed Forces remain at the highest levels of preparedness to carry out any mission assigned to them under any circumstances.

The defence minister conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to the service members.
