Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said the "enemy's warplanes carried out two airstrikes on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital."

Earlier, the Israeli occupation army renewed "evacuation warnings" for several areas, including Haret Hreik and Burj al-Barajneh, claiming it intended to "target Hezbollah military infrastructure" across the district.

The agency also reported Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon that resulted in casualties, though the number of victims has not yet been determined.

Moreover, an Israeli strike killed a Lebanese soldier at a checkpoint in the country's southern Tyre region, Lebanon's military said Monday.

Since 2 March, Israeli airstrikes on Beirut and other parts of Lebanon, along with a ground incursion in the country’s south, have killed nearly 1,238 people and wounded about 3,543, including dozens of women and children.

The Israeli offensive has also displaced more than one million Lebanese during the same period.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it launched rocket attacks targeting Israeli army gatherings in settlements in northern Israel on Monday.

The Israeli military confirmed a soldier was killed a day earlier in combat in southern Lebanon, bringing to six the number of troops killed since fighting with Hezbollah started earlier in March.

Hezbollah also announced it had struck an Israeli missile defence site south of the city of Haifa using what it described as precision rockets.

On Sunday, Hezbollah said it had carried out 74 operations involving rockets and drones against Israeli settlements, positions, bases, and troop concentrations.

According to the group, 55 of these attacks took place inside Lebanese territory and 19 inside Israel.

The UN force in Lebanon said Monday that one of its peacekeepers was killed when a projectile hit one of its positions, where the Israeli army is bombing as part of efforts to establish a buffer zone.

"A peacekeeper was tragically killed last night when a projectile exploded in a UNIFIL position near Adchit al Qusayr," said a statement. "Another was critically injured."

The town of Adchit al Qusayr lies near Lebanon's southern border with Israel. The Israeli occupation army has been targeting the town for nearly a month.

Indonesia confirmed that one of its peacekeepers was killed and three others were wounded due to "indirect artillery fire."

The UNIFIL statement said they did not know the origin of the projectile but had launched an investigation.

"No one should ever lose their life serving the cause of peace," it added.

Targeting UN peacekeepers

UN chief Antonio Guterres condemned the killing in a post on X. "This is just one of a number of recent incidents that have jeopardised the safety and security of peacekeepers," he said.

Lebanese state news agency NNA reported earlier that the position hit belonged to the Indonesian battalion serving with UNIFIL.

UNIFIL has reported that its positions have been hit more than once since the start of the escalation in the Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

On 7 March, three Ghanaian soldiers were wounded by Israeli tank fire in a border town in southern Lebanon.

Since the November 2024 ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, UNIFIL has recorded more than 10,000 air and ground violations by the Israeli army.

UNIFIL also classified multiple Israeli fires on its camps and  forces as 'deliberate attacks."
