The convoy included more than 2,980 tons of aid, comprising nearly 1,580 tons of food parcels, 310 tons of relief materials, medical supplies and medicines, and over 1,090 tons of fuel to operate hospitals and critical facilities, the ERC said.
The shipment also included around 650 tents for displaced families, it added.
The dispatch highlights Egypt’s role as a main lifeline for aid into Gaza, where humanitarian needs have risen sharply amid ongoing strikes and infrastructure damage, with fuel, food and shelter among the most urgent needs.
The organization said it also received the 27th batch of wounded and sick Palestinians, along with their companions, at the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side, facilitating their entry and exit procedures.
Its teams continue to distribute hot meals, winter clothing, and personal care supplies, as well as “return bags” for those heading back into Gaza, the ERC added.
Egypt’s Red Crescent has maintained a continuous presence at the border since the start of the war, sustaining operations across its logistics network, supported by more than 65,000 volunteers. Total aid delivered has exceeded 800,000 tons.
However, the UN warns that more than three-quarters of Gaza’s 2.5 million residents continue to face acute hunger and malnutrition, citing ongoing restrictions on aid entering the territory.
The organization said the critical lack of clean water and medical supplies continues, especially after Israeli strikes damaged water desalination facilities and several hospitals.
Repeated displacement caused by continued bombardment has forced hundreds of thousands into overcrowded shelters and makeshift camps, many of which are not equipped to cope with harsh winter conditions.
Gaza’s healthcare system remains under severe strain, with hospitals operating at limited capacity due to a lack of fuel and essential medicines, as well as damage to critical infrastructure, including intensive care and dialysis units.
