The meeting will be chaired by Bahrain and was called at the request of the State of Palestine, with the support of member states.
Ambassador Hossam Zaki, assistant secretary-general, said the meeting will discuss ways to address the Israeli occupation's crimes and violations in occupied Jerusalem and at its Islamic and Christian holy sites, including Al-Aqsa Mosque.
It will also discuss the law passed by the Israeli Knesset allowing the execution of Palestinian prisoners, he added.
On Tuesday, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset's approval of that law, saying it violates the most basic principles of international humanitarian law and blatantly undermines the requirements of justice.
“This law is clear discrimination against Palestinians and a shameful form of apartheid,” Aboul Gheit said.
