He further reaffirmed to Boulos on Cairo’s position, calling for de-escalation and prioritizing the diplomatic track through negotiations.
The call comes amidst rapid military escalation in the Middle East as the US and Israel continue their war on Iran. The Islamic Republic, on the other hand, has retaliated by striking US military targets in different Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. In Lebanon, the Israeli occupation army has escalated its attacks on civilian infrastructure and started a ground invasion of the country since 2 March.

He also stressed the importance of supporting Sudan's national institutions, reaffirming Egypt’s rejection of the establishment of any parallel entities.
Additionally, Abdelatty underscored the importance of launching a fully Sudanese-owned political process to end the conflict. He expressed Egypt's view that a humanitarian truce is the preliminary step toward a lasting ceasefire. He also emphasized delivering humanitarian aid and alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.
During the call, the Egyptian FM condemned all violations against civilians in Sudan, describing them as a blatant breach of international humanitarian law. He urged that Sudanese civilians and infrastructure must be protected.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, Abdelatty and Boulos’ talks represent the ongoing communications and regular consultations between Egypt and the US.
Bilaterally, the two sides praised the depth of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the US and its mutual benefits for strengthening regional security and stability.
