EgyptAir launches direct flights to Los Angeles, Chicago

EgyptAir has taken a significant step in expanding its global footprint by launching two new direct routes to Los Angeles and Chicago, reinforcing its position as a key connector between Africa, the Middle East, and North America, according to a company statement on Friday.

EgyptAir stated that the inaugural flight to Los Angeles is scheduled for May 2026. Operating three times weekly, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the new flight caters to growing travel demand while offering passengers greater flexibility and convenience.

Similarly, the flights to Chicago, operating weekly on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, will commence in June 2026.

The company added that its latest Airbus A350-900 aircraft will operate the new routes, reflecting the carrier's ambition to expand into the US market. 

For his part, Ahmed Adel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of EgyptAir Holding Company, explained, according to the statement, that launching direct flights between Cairo, Los Angeles, and Chicago "will further strengthen EgyptAir’s global network and position Cairo as a vital hub connecting Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas." 

The company further stated that the new flights mark a significant milestone as its first direct connection to the West Coast of the United States.

Los Angeles and Chicago have thus become EgyptAir’s fourth and fifth destinations in the United States, alongside its current routes to New York, Washington, and Newark.
