The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Council (IRGC) stated on Saturday that Tehran had no role in the attack on the US Embassy in Riyadh, warning regional countries to remain alert to provocations by the US and Israeli regimes.

The IRGC responded to a report cited by American newspaper The Wall Street Journal claiming that the Tehran US embassy in the Saudi capital had been targeted, saying that two drones reportedly bypassed Riyadh's air defence systems, entered the embassy complex, and sparked a fire that burned for approximately 12 hours.

In the statement, the IRGC condemned the reported attack and said it had no connection whatsoever to the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Given the Israeli regime’s strategy in the region, the incident was certainly carried out by Israeli elements, the IRGC noted.

The statement highlighted that Iran’s military objectives have been clearly communicated in advance and that relevant warnings have been provided to countries in the region.

On 28 February, the US and Israel launched a war on Iran, striking major cities, including the capital, Tehran.

The strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with several other senior officials and at least 1,600 Iranians so far, including 244 children.

In response, the IRGC announced a large-scale retaliatory operation against Israel and has targeted U.S facilities across Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Syria using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.
