“Electricity to the hospital was cut off,” hospital chief Mohammad Asgari told reporters Saturday. “All the glass, windows and doors were shattered, many walls collapsed, and the hospital was hit by multiple pieces of shrapnel.”
Asgari said that, fortunately, the ward close to the explosion site housed no patients at the time.
The explosion left the facility with shattered glass, damaged beds, and broken equipment covered with dust, AP video showed.
In tandem, another US-Israeli airstrike targeted Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran on Friday night, causing extensive damage.

Meanwhile, the deputy governor of Khuzestan Province stated that American and Israeli forces attacked the Mahshahr special petrochemical zone in Ahvaz province, though the extent of the damage was initially unclear.
US-Israeli airstrikes have destroyed or damaged multiple hospitals and clinics across Iran as part of hundreds of attacks on the country's civilian infrastructures since the start of the war on 28 February.
