Egypt army chief of staff meets DR Congo counterpart in Cairo

Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, met on Monday with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lieutenant General Jules Panza Mwilambwe, and his accompanying delegation, who are currently visiting Egypt.

An official reception ceremony was held at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defence, during which the national anthems of both countries were played.

The meeting addressed several topics of mutual interest, as well as the latest developments on the regional and international scenes and their impact on security and stability within the African continent, according to a statement from the military spokesman.

The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in various military fields between the armed forces of the two friendly countries, the statement added.

Senior military leaders from both countries and the Congolese Ambassador to Cairo attended the meeting.
