Egypt declares Monday 13 April public holiday for Sham El-Nessim

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has declared Monday, 13 April, an official paid holiday for public and private sector employees to mark the spring festival of Sham El-Nessim.

The decision applies to employees in ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, and public business sector firms, as well as the private sector.

Sham-El-Nessim is an ancient Egyptian feast celebrated alongside Easter. According to the Coptic calendar, it occurs annually on the day after Easter Sunday.
