Al-Awadi, a human rights lawyer and member of the Presidential Pardon Committee, made the announcement via his official Facebook page.
The detainees had faced charges including joining a banned organization and spreading false news, based on which they had been placed in pretrial detention pending investigation.
Sayed Ali Fahim, known as Sayed Moshagheb, was arrested in case No. 910 of 2021, in which he was accused of joining an organization established in violation of the law and spreading false news about the country's political and economic situation.
He had previously served a seven-year prison sentence in connection with the 2015 Air Defence Stadium events, where 20 Zamalek fans were killed in a stampede.
Sherif El-Roubi was arrested in case No. 1634 of 2022, in which he was charged with joining a banned organization and spreading false news about the conditions of detainees after their release.
He had earlier been released in a separate case following a recommendation by the Presidential Pardon Committee in 2016.
Nermin Hussein, a renowned activist, was arrested in case No. 65 of 2021, facing charges of joining a terrorist organization and spreading false news.
Since the reactivation of the Presidential Pardon Committee in April 2022, hundreds of pretrial detainees have been released following the prosecution's recommendations.
The committee reviews appeals submitted by the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), the parliament’s Human Rights Committee, and political parties, as well as requests submitted through its official website.
