During the meeting, Abdelatty delivered a written message of solidarity from Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to Kuwait's Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The message reaffirmed Egypt's solidarity with Kuwait and its full support for the Gulf state in the face of attacks against the country, according to a statement released by the Egyptian foreign ministry.
Energy facilities across the Gulf, including those in Kuwait, alongside US bases in the region, were hit as part of Iran's retaliatory attacks in response to the US-Israel war.
During the meeting, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's backing for Kuwait, describing the current regional situation as exceptional.
The foreign minister also praised the Emir's leadership, citing his measured response and restraint in the face of what Egypt characterized as blatant violations targeting Kuwait and other Gulf states.
During his meeting with the crown prince, Abdelatty also reiterated Cairo’s unequivocal condemnation of the attacks on Kuwaiti territory, rejecting “any justification for these flagrant violations of international law and the UN Charter.”
He said Kuwait's security is inseparable from Egypt's own national security and expressed full Egyptian support for any measures Kuwait takes to protect itself and its citizens.
Minister Abdelatty also condemned the storming and vandalism of Kuwait's consulate general in Basra, calling it a direct violation of the internationally protected status of diplomatic and consular premises and a breach of international law.
The consulate was attacked by protesters in a rare breach of a Gulf diplomatic mission, raising concerns over the security of foreign representations in Iraq.
Sheikh Sabah praised Egypt's consistent backing for Kuwait's security and stability, as well as its broader role in upholding Gulf and Arab security.
Post-war arrangements
The talks also covered the latest regional developments and the recently announced two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran.
Minister Abdelatty described the agreement as a significant step toward restoring calm and called for the opportunity to be used to advance negotiations and dialogue.
He also outlined Egypt's recent efforts, working alongside regional partners, to reduce tensions and broker understandings.
Additionally, Abdelatty stressed the importance of continued Egyptian-Kuwaiti coordination to contain tensions and work toward ending the conflict through diplomatic means.
He warned against the risk of the region sliding into wider instability, the statement added.
Abdelatty also raised the need to begin discussions on post-war security arrangements, asserting that Arab national security is indivisible and that any framework must protect the sovereignty and resources of Gulf and Arab states.
