Dr. Amin’s appointment to this strategic position is backed by a distinguished track record of achievements spanning more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, including 15 years in senior leadership roles across the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to joining GSK, Dr. Amin served as Regional Head of the Levant and Iran at a leading multinational pharmaceutical company. He had also previously held the position of Chairman and Managing Director of the same company in Egypt. He brings exceptional expertise in the pharmaceutical sector, including leading multinational organizations, launching innovative therapies across regional markets, and building strategic partnerships within the healthcare and pharmaceutical ecosystem. He is also recognized for his strong network and close relationships with key healthcare officials and experts, positioning him to lead the company and contribute positively to the development of Egypt’s pharmaceutical sector.
Dr. Amin’s return to GSK carries particular significance, as he began his professional career with the company’s Kuwait affiliate. In his new role as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager in Egypt, he will be responsible for strengthening the company’s commercial performance, driving sustainable growth in the Egyptian market, advancing its innovation agenda, and ensuring Egyptian patients have access to the latest global therapies. He will also focus on deepening strategic partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem, reinforcing a culture of excellence, maintaining a strong patient-centric approach, and empowering the company’s internal talent.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Dr. Sherif Amin has maintained a strong presence within Egypt’s economic and pharmaceutical communities. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Foundation for Drug Research and Manufacturing Development, in addition to being a member of the Board of Trustees of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Egypt.
