Minnikhanov was received upon arrival at Cairo International Airport by Egypt’s Minister of Industry, Khaled Hashem, and the acting Russian ambassador to Egypt, Yuri Matveev.
The Tatarstan president expressed his appreciation for the warm reception extended by Egyptian officials, voicing hope that the visit would contribute to enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
The visit’s programme includes field tours of several sites and a series of working meetings to explore opportunities for deeper economic and industrial collaboration.
As part of his visit, Minnikhanov toured a branch of the Kazan Federal University in Cairo, located within a medical complex spanning 10,000 square metres.
He was briefed on the academic facilities and reviewed the university’s educational system.
The branch currently offers training programmes in general medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy, with 2,023 students enrolled. Two additional faculties—artificial intelligence and physical therapy—are set to open in the near future.
