Indonesia sends 24-truck aid convoy to Gaza via Egypt

Indonesia has sent a 24-truck humanitarian aid convoy from Egypt to Gaza, carrying food, medical supplies, and relief items to support around 150,000 Palestinians amid the ongoing crisis.

Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt Kuncoro Giri Waseso, together with Indonesian humanitarian activists under the “Indonesia for Palestine” initiative, launched the convoy on 13 April.

The shipment includes 24 container trucks, with 17 carrying food supplies and seven loaded with medical supplies and blankets.

The “Indonesia for Palestine” delegation stated that the aid, valued at approximately IDR 20 billion (equivalent to $1.1 million), with a total weight of 500 tons, will be distributed to around 150,000 beneficiaries in the Gaza Strip.

The delegation emphasized that this assistance reflects the Indonesian people’s compassion and solidarity with the suffering of the Palestinian people.

On this occasion, the Indonesian ambassador expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Indonesian delegation, extending his sincere gratitude to all donors in Indonesia, namely Al Khair Foundation, Lembaga Manajemen Infak, Rumah Zakat, Daarut Tauhid Peduli, Laju Peduli, Global Humanitarian, and Network.

The ambassador further affirmed Indonesia’s unwavering commitment to continue supporting Palestine until the Palestinian people achieve their freedom and independence.

Since the outbreak of the Gaza crisis, Indonesia has consistently sent humanitarian assistance to Palestinians, primarily through Egypt.
 
According to the Indonesian embassy in Cairo, the total humanitarian aid provided by the Indonesian government and 33 Indonesian humanitarian organizations via Egypt has reached $22.56 million (approximately 2,580 tons) from 7 October 2023 to February 2026.
