The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation with the World Bank to support early recovery and reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip, as well as coordinating international efforts to ensure an effective response to the humanitarian and developmental needs of the Palestinian people.

FM Abdelatty stressed the importance of advancing the full implementation of the second phase of the agreed framework and the plan proposed by Donald Trump, while ensuring the unimpeded flow of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid.

He also underscored the need to open all crossings to help alleviate the worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

The foreign minister highlighted the importance of enabling the national committee tasked with administering Gaza to begin operating from within the enclave, as a step toward restoring the full role of the Palestinian Authority in managing daily affairs.

He also praised the World Bank’s extensive expertise in reconstruction and development, expressing Egypt’s interest in continued cooperation to help secure sustainable living conditions for Palestinians and implement priority projects necessary for early recovery. Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s readiness to fully cooperate with international partners in this regard.

At the same time, he warned against attempts to exploit the current regional situation in ways that could undermine efforts to achieve peace, stability, and coexistence between Palestinians and Israelis, pointing to escalating Israeli violations in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem.

For his part, Emblad commended Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian cause and its ongoing efforts to ease humanitarian suffering in Gaza.

He also expressed the World Bank’s appreciation for Egypt’s comprehensive approach that links humanitarian assistance with long-term development, affirming the bank’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Cairo to support recovery, reconstruction, and sustainable development for the Palestinian people.
