Captain Ahmed Adel received a high-level British delegation at the company’s headquarters in Cairo, headed by British Ambassador to Egypt Mark Bryson Richardson, along with Wisam Hassanein, senior trade advisor at the UK Department for Business and Trade, and Mohamed Saad, regional head for Egypt and Algeria at UK Export Finance.
The meeting addressed avenues for strengthening cooperation across key areas, foremost among them EgyptAir’s long-term fleet development and modernization plans, through exploring integrated financing mechanisms to support its renewal strategy.
Discussions also covered potential partnerships with major global aircraft manufacturers, as well as opportunities for cooperation with British partners in training, technology transfer, and institutional capacity building, in addition to developing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) systems.

Both sides also discussed ways to boost air traffic between Egypt and the United Kingdom by expanding the airline’s network and exploring the launch of new destinations, contributing to enhanced connectivity and supporting tourism and trade exchange between the two countries.
The meeting further highlighted arrangements for participation in major international events, particularly the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, in a way that reinforces EgyptAir’s global presence and supports its strategic partnerships.

EgyptAir currently operates 28 weekly flights between Cairo and UK cities, including 21 direct flights between Cairo and London and seven flights between Cairo and Manchester.
