Egypt FM holds talks with US, Algeria on regional crises at Antalya Diplomacy Forum

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a series of high-level meetings on Saturday on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, focusing on strengthening partnerships and coordinating positions on key regional crises.

In talks with Massad Boulos, senior adviser to the US president for Arab and African affairs, Abdelatty discussed ways to enhance the Egypt-US strategic partnership.

Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest to support security and stability in the Middle East and Africa.

The discussions also included an exchange of views on regional developments, particularly in Sudan, Lebanon, Libya, and the Horn of Africa.

Separately, Abdelatty met Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf to discuss bilateral ties and regional issues.

The Egyptian minister praised the strong and longstanding relations between the two countries and highlighted the importance of building on the outcomes of the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian Joint High Committee, held in Cairo in November 2025, particularly in economic, trade, and investment cooperation.

Both ministers emphasised the need to intensify coordination on regional challenges, with Libya identified as a shared priority. They also underlined the importance of maintaining regular meetings of the mechanism involving Libya’s neighbouring countries.

The talks concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to advancing bilateral relations across various sectors and sustaining close consultation on regional developments to serve mutual interests.
